Uber updated, adds new destination entry, turn-by-turn navigation
Cab ordering service Uber has released an update for its app, adding new features the company calls "Cruise Control" for both the rider and driver versions. For riders, the update includes a new destination entry that allows the driver to automatically see what users have entered at pick-up time. Drivers can now enable turn-by-turn navigation for the destination provided by the rider, eliminating the need for third-party navigation apps. The aim of the update is to improve the efficiency of cab rides for both drivers and riders alike. The features are now live for iOS and Android users.
Spotify links with BandPage, allows artists to sell content directly to fans
Music streaming service Spotify has announced its new link with band profile platform BandPage. Beginning today, artists can use BandPage to get their offers onto Spotify. The new integration expands upon Spotify's merchandise feature that launched last year, with the new ability to offer users paid access to experience-based content. Experiences can include private online concerts, meet-and-greets, song collaborations and more, all available through Spotify for fans to purchase. The BandPage integration is free for artists to use; merchandise offers can be featured on Spotify with the use of a free BandPage account.
