Golla Road City bag provide an excellent blend of style and functionality

An ongoing conundrum for tech users one is trying to find the best bag to tote your gear around when on the go. Golla is a Finnish company whose products have now found their way into both Apple and Microsoft stores in various locations around the globe. In addition to smartphone cases and other accessories, the company also sells a range of bags geared towards tech users. We have our hands on the company's Golla Road City bag in gray and have been impressed with its blend of form and function.

If there is one key ingredient in any bag is that it conveys a sense of taste and style. The Golla Road City bag ticks that box nicely through by blending natural materials in both canvas and leather beautifully. As a 'messenger' style bag, it features a fold over flap, made from leather treated in gray, while is joined by a sturdy leather strap in olive green. To help keep its cost down to a reasonable $150, it also features large swathes of rugged canvas in in matching green/gray look, which also helps to keep the overall weight of the bag down too. Importantly, the high contact underside of the bag integrates a panel of the same leather in gray of the flap in order to ensure the durability of the bag over time. Stitching and zippers are of a similar high quality and look to be sufficiently tough.

With the style box ticked, the ideal commuter bag for a techie needs to have a sufficient number of compartments, pockets and space to store your what you need for work and play. The Golla Road City bag certainly delivers in this area, but as a bag designed to carry only up to a 13-inch notebook, it is not especially voluminous. This can have its advantages of course, as it remains relatively compact. On the inside of the bag is a sleeve for the said notebook, as well as a separate sleeve for stowing a large tablet.

There are also a couple pockets integrated into the sleeve that are good for storing cables, a spare battery, as well as a smartphone. The main compartment is large enough to accommodate a jumper, a scarf and a beanie as well as other oddments. There are two zippered pockets as well, with one under the flap and the other integrated into the leather flap itself. Rather than integrate a zippered compartment on the rear of the bag, Golla has opted to include a leather strap with velcro so that it can be dropped over the handle of an onboard luggage bag with extendable handle for those that need to hop on and off flights.

Overall, it's hard to fault the Golla Road City bag. It is nicely styled and will appeal to a wide range of potential customers who are looking for a well made messenger style bag that has been designed with tech users in mind.
