Apple iWatch to be teased at Sept. 9 event, may not ship until 2015

updated 01:00 pm EDT, Fri August 29, 2014

Delay said to be analogous to launch of first-gen iPhone

While Apple may show off the iWatch at its September 9 event, the product won't ship for several months, sources tell Re/code's John Paczkowski. He suggests that the product could ship as late as early 2015, missing the critical holiday season. The delay is likened to the first iPhone, which was announced in January 2007 but didn't ship until that summer, although Paczkowski comments that the delay won't necessarily be that long.

If true, the claim may explain why no parts for the iWatch have leaked so far. Even specifications have remained ambiguous, with conflicting rumors about screen size, shape, and technology. The device is expected to have a number of different health and fitness sensors -- possibly beyond those in most fitness trackers -- but no report has made any definite claims.

The September event will likely concentrate on the iPhone 6. Apple is at least expected to showcase a 4.7-inch model, and may also reveal a 5.5-inch one.

This is great, talk up up the "announcement" of the iWatch and when it is revealed (Sept. 9th) and it isn't available within a reasonable amount of time, stock analysts will tank the stock. Of course, I'm also hopeful that the design of the watch makes them drool with anticipation that they don't care when it's coming out.

When is that Motorola 360 supposed to come out.....?

The text on the picture should read:
    How can I help?

    It now reads:
What can i help you with?

The word 'with' should not end a sentence.

    Mahalo.
