LinkedIn retires visualization tool InMaps

Professional networking platform LinkedIn has discontinued its InMaps visualization tool. Citing the need to focus on new ways to visualize users' professional network, InMaps officially retired September 1. The feature was first launched in January 2011, and allowed for viewing different clusters in one's network and color code them as to see where crossovers and separations appeared.

BBC announces children's content focused on computing, coding, programming

BBC Children's and BBC Learning have announced the launch of new computing and programming content to support UK primary and secondary school curriculum. CBBC will first be launching two series -- "Dick and Dom," and "Technobabble" -- with the aim to provide interactive content featuring examples of "digital creativity." The Dick and Dom series will challenge young viewers to design and build their own game, with the chosen designer's product to be released as a downloadable app. Technobabble will feature digital innovations and discussions of their impact on everyday life. Full details of BBC's upcoming plans for new children's educational content can be found through the BBC's media center announcement.
