IFA show's presser demoes refreshes of large swathe of Asus computing line

Asus added a variety of other electronics to its line today. At the IFA, Asus announced the 13.3-inch QHD+ Zenbook UX305, the EeeBook X205, and an extension to its tablet line -- the MeMO Pad 7. Asus also unveiled the ProSieben Entertainment Pad, an eight-inch device tailored for the German market, and developed in conjuction with ProSieben and Intel.

The ME572C MeMO Pad 7 is powered by an 1.83GHz Intel Atom 64-bit quad-core processor, and is 8.3mm thin (0.33 inches) and weighs only 269g (9.5 ounces). The Full HD IPS display has a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch and wide 178-degree viewing angles, plus Asus TruVivid and the company's Splendid technology. It features 2GB of RAM, either 16GB or 32GB of storage, expandable with a MicroSD card up to 64GB. The tablet will be priced at €199 ($262 US) in black, gold, or red.

The Windows 8.1 with Bing-powered EeeBook X205 is an 11.6-inch device running at 1366x768, and is interestingly priced less than the company's Chromebook offerings. The computer is powered by an Intel Atom T3737 Bay Trail processor. Storage is either 32GB or 64GB, depending on configuration. The company claims that its 38Wh battery will power the computer for up to 12 hours. Release date is not yet known, but the company is claiming that it will be shipping before the end of the fourth quarter of 2014.

The highlight of the computer and tablet offerings is the premium ZenBook UX 305. The device, clad in aluminum, is a non-touch 13.3-inch 3200x1800 display, at 275ppi. The computer is powered with an unspecified Core M processor, and has a choice of either 128GB or 256GB of SSD-based storage. Pricing and availability are not yet known.
