1:08 - Cook moves on to talk about retail expansion, including the new Stanford store with "gorgeous pavilion design."

1:19 - Next month will ship "700 millionth iOS device." Craig Federighi takes the stage to detail some of the new iOS 7 features. "Virtually overnight hundreds of millions of people will download iOS 7."

Siri "massively improved" in iOS 7. New ringtones… "you may miss a call due to dancing, but that's ok, because we have voicemail." New notification tones, "remastered" old tones. The camera app features live photo effects, optional square aspect ratio.

1:24 - iOS 7 set for September 18 launch, as a free download, with support for iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini, iPod touch 5th-gen. Cook now talks about iWork, "best-selling mobile productivity apps."

1:27 - "iWork highlights the fact that iOS devices aren't just for consuming content, they're incredible for creating content." iWork apps are now free with any new iOS device.

1:28 - Phil Schiller comes on stage and introduces the iPhone 5C, available in green, white, blue, red, or yellow.

1:31 - The front is all glass, without seams, while the iOS 7 color theme can be set to match the phone color. Cases will also be available with circular cutouts to show the housing color. The 5C will have a slightly larger battery than the iPhone 5, A6 processor, same camera sensor.

1:33 - The FaceTime HD camera has been improved for low-light sensitivity; more LTE bands for global carriers. The 16GB variant will retail for $99 with a new contract, or $199 for a 32GB edition. Covers will cost $29.

1:35 - Jony Ive in promo video - "It's the vivid realization of hardware and software in once device."

1:37 - Schiller now introduces the iPhone 5S, "most forward thinking phone anyone's ever made." Available in silver, gold, "space grey"… each with a new capacitive home button. First 64-bit chip, an A7 design.

1:39 - The processor is said to have desktop-class architecture, modern instruction set, 1 billion transistors.

1:41 - The processor is said to have desktop-class architecture, modern instruction set, 1 billion transistors. iPhone 5S is twice as fast as the previous system, twice the graphics performance. 40X the performance of the original iPhone.

1:43 - The 5S runs OpenGL ES 3.0. Epic Games' Donald Mustard comes on stage to preview Infinity Blade 3.

1:44 - Game "took two hours to port to 64-bit," extremely fast loading with 64-bit architecture.

1:45 - Infinity Blade III will be available on iPhone 5S launch day.

1:49 - Schiller steps back on stage to talk about "completely new part in the iPhone, we call it M7." Chip serves as a "motion co-processor" to enable a "whole new level" of fitness apps, alongside the CoreMotion API in iOS 7.

1:50 - The chip identifies user movement, optimizes based on contextual awareness. Nike+ will have a new app that takes advantage of the M7 chip… tracks Fuel points, enables competition with friends via GameCenter.

1:51 - 5S battery life is equal or better than the iPhone 5, with 10 hours of talk time. The phone features a new camera system, f2.2 lens with a 15% larger active sensor area and larger 1.5-micron pixels. "Our competitors would just pack more pixels on that, but that's not what we do," Schiller says.

1:52 - Camera paired with software features, including autofocus matrix metering ("SLR-level stuff"), dynamic local tone map. "TrueTone" flash is dual-element, cool and amber, for 1000 possible color temperatures.

1:57 - Image stabilization has been improved, with automatic best-shot selection for blur reduction, 10fps burst shooting, 120fps slow-motion camera. Panorama mode adjusts exposure automatically while the shot is being captured.

1:59 - Schiller now talks about the third new feature, security - research suggests 50% of users don't use passcodes because they are too cumbersome. The 5S features fingerprint "touch ID" sensor; 170 microns thin, 500ppi resolution, capacitive, 360-degree scanning.

2:00 - Users simply touch the home button and it unlocks the phone. "Joy to do," Schiller says.

2:00 - Fingerprint ID can also be used for iTunes purchases, in-app purchases.

2:01 - Jony Ive in promo video - "Your fingerprint is one of the best passes in the world. It's always with you, and no two are exactly alike."

2:04 - Fingerprint information is stored in the A7 chip, not on Apple's servers.

2:04 - "This is our most forward-thinking phone yet," adds Schiller.

2:05 - iPhone 5S pricing set at $199, $299, $399 for 16GB, 32GB or 64GB variants.

2:05 - New leather cases in a variety of colors for $39.
