A rare iPhone 4 has surfaced on eBay replete with an unusual deathstar-like 'protologo.' According to the description, it is features an unusual back that clamps to the body without screws, as was fitted to the final shipping model. Further, it is also still fully functional and runs Apple's 'SwitchBoard' software testing suite and is designated the N90AP.
The iPhone also incorporates all original prototype parts, but has had an Apple OEM iPhone battery retrofitted by the current owner. The iPhone prototype also has its own serial number which unsurprisingly does not show up in Apple's device serial number database. It is also marked clearly with the words indicating that it should not be sold.
For Apple collectors interested in acquiring the device, the bidding starts at $4,500, although the seller will part with for an upfront payment of $10,000. [via 9to5Mac]
