Lytro Perspective Shift allows for point of view shift

Lytro today announced two new features for its eponymous light field camera. A software update in the coming weeks will give Lytro photographers the ability to alter the point of view in a picture after it has been taken with the new Perspective Shift feature. Also, Lytro owners will be able to use interactive filters to edit Lytro photographs, thanks to the forthcoming update.

Perspective shift allows Lytro photographers to tilt the perspective on an image up, down, left, or right with a simple click. Users can also share Perspective Shift images to Facebook and Twitter, allowing their friends to shift the images as well without the need for additional software. The feature will work on all photographs previously taken with a Lytro camera, as well as any new light field pictures.

The Living Filters feature adds creative and interactive filters that can be changed with the click of a mouse. The update brings nine interactive filters, including Film Noir, Crayon, and Carnival, for Lytro users. This feature, as well, will work with images previously taken with Lytro cameras.

Lytro expects that the new features will be available for all Lytro camera owners on December 4. The update will come as a free download.
