Sonos now plays iTunes music, podcasts directly from iPhone

Wireless music streaming solution Sonos saw an update recently, one that brings the ability to stream music and podcasts directly from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to anywhere with a Sonos speaker or player. The update is compatible with iOS 6, and it allows users to stream music from any source seamlessly as part of the same playlist. It is available as a free download at the App Store.

The update allows users to stream music from an iOS device's library, as well as music from streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify, rdio, and so forth. Users are able to play different tracks in different, Sonos-connected rooms, as well. Since Sonos creates its own network specifically for music playback, it can play music in sync between rooms with no interruption due to traffic on a user's home broadband network.
