iPhone-compatible network available in 23 major metro areas

An official blog post penned by T-Mobile's Chief Technology Officer Neville Ray has trumpeted the company's 4G HSPA+ expansion in five major metropolitan areas, including Chicago, Reno, Fresno, and Sacramento. The new expansion brings the provider's iPhone 5-compatible network to 23 metro areas, and 100 million people.

The executive's post spells out Chicago suburbs of Aurora, Berwyn, Chicago Heights, Cicero, Des Plaines, Downers Grove, Evanston, Evergreen Park, Naperville, Oak Park, Schaumburg, Wilmette and Winnetka receiving expanded coverage. Additionally, the Sacramento-area areas of Antelope, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Loomis, North Highlands, Rancho Cordova, Rio Linda, Rocklin, Roseville, Vacaville and West Sacramento have coverage as well.

Besides Fresno, other California areas blanketed by the new coverage include Alhambra, Anaheim, Claremont, Culver City, El Monte, Encino, Garden Grove, Granada Hills, Inglewood, Irvine, La Crescenta, Laguna Niguel, Monrovia, Monterey Park, Newport Beach, North Hills, North Hollywood, Paramount, Pasadena, Redlands, Reseda, Rosemead, Santa Ana, San Fernando, San Gabriel, Santa Monica, South El Monte, Temple City, Torrance, Upland, Valley Village, Van Nuys, Westminster and Wilmington.

The post also addresses enhancements being made in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, the New York metro area, Philadelphia, and San Diego that are "already experiencing improved coverage and unlocked iPhone 'speed sightings' on T-Mobile’s 4G network."
