24-inch display boosts performance, screen size with new model

ViewSonic, a provider of monitors and related products, today unveiled its Smart Display product family, adding the 24-inch VSD240 to the recently-launched 22-inch display in the same line. The VSD240 integrates a 24-inch 1920x1080 Full HD LED screen with a quad-core Tegra 3 1.7Ghz processor from nVIDIA and the Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" operating system.

ViewSonic's Smart Displays offer connectivity options including HDMI for plugging in a notebook or tablet for an expanded screen space, as well as USB ports, SD card storage and network connection options including RJ45 Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 technology. Webcam functionality is provided by a built-in 1.3MP webcam with integrated microphone for videoconferencing and photo-taking, and the unit also features integrated SRS 3D Technology speakers.

The 24-inch VSD240 will be available in North America in April. Retail pricing for the display is expected to be $499.
