Animationist jumps to version 1.1, allows single-letter animation
Synium Software has released a major update to its title-art video generator, Animationist ($30). The new version, 1.1, offers a much-improved video export process (including GIF export), the ability to animate single letters in texts, Retina display support, improved text quality and a full user manual among other changes. The program can be used for creating titles for YouTube videos, iMovie or Final Cut projects or even broadcast TV.

The update also brings the ability to import and embed existing videos directly into compositions, Text and Path extrude filters and what the company calls "countless" bug fixes. The program requires OS X 10.7 or later, and supports the upcoming Mavericks (10.9). The update is free to existing Animationist 1.0 customers.
