Cricket picks up dual-display Kyocera Lingo phone
Cricket today provided a challenge to Verizon's enV with the launch of the Kyocera Lingo. Like its rival, the Lingo operates like a traditional bar-shaped phone with a number pad but opens lengthwise to reveal a second display and a QWERTY keyboard. Combined with Cricket's standard unlimited messaging, the design lets users quickly send out SMS texts without carrying a much larger device, according to the provider. Kyocera also delivers 1.3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth features similar to its LG-made opponent and offers web access, though no mention is made of EV-DO access.

The Lingo is expected to reach shops today in a copper color and will sell for $180 after a rebate; the carrier does not mention whether this price requires a service contract.
