Dell Latitude XT gets concrete specs, Nov. release

Dell's first tablet PC, the Latitude XT, today received definitive specifications courtesy of leaked shots supplied to the French enthusiast group LesDelliens. In its final form, the device will be powered by Intel's 1.2GHz ultra low-voltage Core 2 Duo but use an AMD-made ATI mainboard with Radeon Xpress 1250 integrated graphics providing Vista-capable output. Buyers will have the pick of a 12-inch touch LCD lit either by a traditional cold-cathode fluorescent (CCFL) backlight or a pricier but thinner, more efficient, and more accurate LED light. The XT will have Bluetooth and 802.11n Wi-Fi as options for those who need the extra wireless support.

The Round Rock, Texas system builder should also allow as much as 3GB of memory across two slots and will weigh just under four pounds in its heaviest trim level. Final costs for the system are still shrouded in secrecy but will be made public by the tablet Latitude's release, which is purportedly set for November 5th for the US and most other countries.
