For many, these were a sign that HTC was hoping to ride the wave of iPhone publicity. If so, it worked: the device sold more than 800,000 units during its first three months on sale. That it should not be ignored is beyond doubt; whether it really offers the same qualities as the iPhone, however, is another matter.
