BenQ announces ultra thin T60

BenQ on Friday revealed details of its super-slim T60, measuring just over a third of an inch (8.9mm) thick and packing a 2.2-inch 320x240 resolution LCD screen along with a 3.2-megapixel camera. Software includes a caller black list function that screens out user-selected numbers. BenQ is pitching the GSM phone as a high-quality fashion accessory akin to fountain pens and money clips.

The integrated multimedia player is capable of recording audio from its built-in FM radio tuner onto either 24MB of internal memory or a micro SD card slot. Common MPEG4 and MP3 file formats are supported as are AMR, MIDI and SP-MIDI and all can be reproduced in A2DP stereo sound via Bluetooth. Remote control support means the T60 can be used as a jukebox, while a USB connection allows for file transfer.

Battery life is rated at a disappointing maximum of 2.5 hours of talk time, along with 200 hours of standby.

There is no word on pricing; for now, the T60 is only released in Bangladesh, Taiwan and Turkey with other regions likely to follow.
