Microsoft may be timing its first non-US Zune launch for as little as a few weeks away, if a Vancouver, Canada job posting proves legitimate. The company is using local press firm Consumer Impact Marketing to represent itself for the launch of the Zune in Canada and has issued a specific work window for any candidate, who must have time to commit to a full-time schedule between May 12th and June 20th. Details of what will be performed during the five-week period are unknown, though short contracts for such projects are often to supplement official staff during the hectic period of an actual launch. The media player designer has previously promised a launch for the Zune in Canada and tipped its hand on the launch of the second-generation players, when it included Canadian support information in the boxes of the otherwise US-only portable devices.
However, Microsoft may not include all the models on launch, according to reports. The legacy Zune 30 is unlikely to be included given its age, but a recent teaser page from the company also hints that the green flash-based Zune will disappear from the line. The recent red Zune 80 is also absent but was introduced as a permanent option from Microsoft after the creation of the teaser.
Pricing is likely to fall closely in line with American offerings, which sell for $149 and $199 in 4GB and 8GB models as well as $249 for the hard drive-based Zune 80. [via ClicZune]
