Late last week, ASUS unveiled its newest digital photo frame, the UFOTO UF735, which is unique in doubling as a secondary monitor for computers. The 7-inch, 720x480 display sports stereo speakers and an earphone jack that allow it to play MP3-format audio files, stored either on its integrated 128MB of memory or a variety of popular memory card formats as well as USB flash drives. To enhance its usefulness as a secondary monitor, the UF735 has three modes: it can either display the current window only in Selected mode; copy the screen in Duplicate mode; or allows users to choose what to display by dragging and dropping via the Extended function.
Digital photos in either JPEG, GIF or BMP formats are displayed in one of five modes that alter and adjust the images accordingly, including Black-and-White and Vivid. Photos can also be searched by the date on which they were taken via the Reminiscence function. Additionally, a calendar and alarm are also programmed into the UF735.
An integrated sensor will rotate photos to the landscape or portrait orientation, as necessary, while an AI Light sensor adjusts the LCD backlight for ideal contrast levels in all lighting environments.
Powering the frame is either an AC power supply or the built-in rechargeable battery. Available in silver, blue or pink, no pricing or availability dates have been announced for the UFOTO UF735.
