The long-anticipated Palm Treo 800w has finally received a specific release date under Sprint's network. As previously noted, the 800w will launch in July, but it is now known through a leak that corporate customers will be able to pick it up on the 9th, and the general public getting access on the 13th. The phone will use Windows Mobile 6.1 and feature built-in Wi-Fi and GPS functionality. It will be the first Treo to use the EVDO Rev. A data network to attain 3G data speeds. Without commitments, it will be priced at nearly $600.
Palm has mentioned it will launch a new Treo phone this summer that most now believe is the 800w, which points to the rumored Treo 850 being delayed until later in 2008.
Other features of the 800w will include 128MB of built-in RAM along with 256MB of ROM, as well as an integrated 1.3-megapixel camera. Like the 700w, the screen will feature a 320x320 pixel resolution. Verizon is also expected to launch its Treo 800w sometime this summer. [via PhoneArena]
