Bang & Olufsen to give cond...
Bang & Olufsen today said it had struck a unique deal that would see a luxury condominum include the Danish electronics firm's technology. The upcoming Renwick building in Manhattan's SoHo area will see a BeoVision 8 32-inch LCD TV installed by default into every suite along with audio systems to match; the company's BeoSound 4 is also put into each condominium for listening to music through SD cards or CD, while a BeoLab 4000 one-piece speaker provides sound without taking up extra space.

The BeoVision 8 is particularly well-suited to the Renwick, the company says; the 720p TV has a built-in, full range speaker with tweeters, mid-range drivers, and bass, while the LCD is deliberately left without a glass cover to render its image more visible in bright light, including the daylight that will come through the New York City building's all-glass exterior.

Each suite is also pre-wired for other equipment, though whether this depends on proprietary connectors or would allow other home theater and stereo devices isn't specified. The Renwick is expected to complete sometime in 2009 and should have the Bang & Olufsen lineup already in place for residents, though all of the equipment that comes standard with each suite is available separately.
