Super Talent ships "world's smallest" USB drive

Super Talent Technology says its PICO-C Gold 8GB USB flash drive is the "world's smallest," comes in a 24-carat gold shell and is water resistant to boot. The tiny drive is smaller than a standard SD card and weighs less than a nickel. The device ships with a gold chain, and "looks more like a fashion accessory than a high performance flash drive," the company said.

According to the company, the mini-drive uses chip-on-board technology to squeeze the card into a 31mm X 12mm gold-plated case. The flash-drive stores up to 2,000 MP3 music files and supports transfer speeds up to 200X (30MB/sec). The company says the drive is rugged and water resistant, and comes with a lifetime warranty.

The PICO-C Gold will be available at online retailers NewEgg and NewBiiz this week for "under $40.
