Members of community site AVSForum today said they have spotted an unannounced Blu-ray player from Oppo at the CEDIA home theater expo. The BDP-S83 would be the company's first movie reader of the type and currently has no formal announcement, although certain clues are visible from the device. An Ethernet jack confirms that it would come as a Blu-Ray Profile 2.0 player with Internet-based special features.The leak also shows the expected HDMI output as well as component and likely RCA out for alternate devices. Oppo itself hasn't provided any clues to a launch, though the unannounced state of the S83 suggests it may not appear until early 2009 if not immediately ready to ship. |
