LG tops 1m Prada sales, sets Prada 2 for fall
LG today said that it has sold one million Prada phones worldwide, making it one of the Korean company's best-selling individual touchscreen devices. The device was one of the earliest direct competitors to the iPhone and was developed at roughly the same time with a launch a few months earlier. Individually, the device has fared relatively poorly compared to its Apple rival's over six million but forms part of a larger touchscreen lineup that LG said slightly edged Apple in July.

The cellphone maker also explained that the team-up has been successful enough to spur the launch of a sequel by the end of the year. No details have been announced, but the official statement supports an earlier leak that would point to a Prada II launch in the fall. The handset is said to address a number of the limitations with the original Europe-focused phone, including full 3G with US support, Wi-Fi, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a five-megapixel camera.
