Dell may be planning not one but two smaller 1080p LCDs for launch in the near future, inadvertent leaks on the company's own website show. In addition to a teaser for the 22-inch S2209W, the site now also shows a more complete entry for the slightly larger S2309W. Both should have the same 16:9 aspect ratio and resulting 1920x1080 resolution as the 24-inch display in production but should appear crisper due to size; specifications are unclear for the 22-inch panel, though Dell already lists a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a 5ms pixel response time and 300cd/m2 brightness for the S2309W.Prices or an exact launch date are unavailable, though the details of the 23-inch screen imply a lower-cost alternative to the 24-inch panel with HDMI removed and just DVI plus VGA ports providing its connections. It's not known whether Dell fully intends to release both of the newly exposed displays given their similarities to each other and to the cosmetically similar S2409W. [some info via Engadget]
