MSI has released a new 16-inch notebook, the VR630 for the European market, which features a 1366x768 16-inch screen with a movie- and gaming-friendly 16:9 aspect ratio. The notebook can be had with an AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core processor or Sempron CPU, with RAM that can be optioned up to 4GB. The notebook includes MSI's ECO Engine power management function that lets them choose from Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office and Turbo Battery modes to balance performance with battery life.With an exterior design inspired by ocean wave patterns, the VR630 includes an integrated GeForce 8200M G graphics processor. The SATA hard drive, available in 160GB, 250GB or 320GB capacities, comes pre-loaded with Windows Vista, while the sole optical drive choice is a DVD burner. Expansion options include three USB ports, and there is a 3-in-1 card reader, Ethernet port and an Express Card slot, along with a 1.3-megapixel camera. Wi-Fi support comes via a built-in 802.11 b/g/n wireless module. The notebook weighs 5.6lbs with its six-cell battery.
The VR630 is now available in Europe, with prices starting at 430 Euros (about $576). Although no announcements were made, MSI regularly brings some of its notebooks to the US. [via FarEastGizmos]
