The Samsung Propel handset, announced last week, is now available for purchase at wireless provider AT&T. The Propel features a sliding 2.2-inch screen and front panel that reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. The phone is meant to be a messaging device, with a dedicated shortcut button to make text, instant or e-mail messaging quick. The Propel can roam across the wireless voice and data networks in a large number of countries thanks to its dual-band 3G support and quad-band GSM radios.

The phone will store photos and videos captured by its 1.3-megapixel camera onto a microSD card up to 8GB in capacity. It will connect to compatible wireless headphones with stereo Bluetooth support. AT&T services that include music downloads from Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile and XM Radio Mobile, as well as the MusicID service, are supported. Supported multimedia features include AT&T's Video Share, MobiTV, CV and Navigator services.

Available in red/black, red/white, blue/black or green/black starting on October 25th, the handset is priced at about $80 with a two-year contract and a mail-in rebate through AT&T.
