Third wireless charging system boasts multiple device charging

The Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) has launched a new brand for devices that adhere to its certification program. The "Rezence" logo will be applied to devices that are compatible with a third wireless charging system that relies on the principles of magnetic resonance to transfer power, something that offers a number of advantages over existing wireless power systems.

A4WP gets big boost with Intel joining the collective

The Alliance for Wireless Power may have received a big boost in the format wars for what is thought to be the next step in powering devices. Chipmaker Intel has joined A4WP with a seat on the alliance's board of directors, meaning the collective now has several of the largest processor makers on board. In addition to Intel, A4WP counts more than 40 other firms among its members, including Samsung, Qualcomm, and Broadcom.
