American Express and Verizon Wireless have announced they will integrate Amex's Serve digital payment and commerce platform onto Verizon mobile phones and tablets. Using Serve, Verizon subscribers will be able to make payments and redeem offers directly from their mobile devices. The two companies also plan to use Serve to offer subscribers online and mobile promos with participating shops.
Amex Digital has recently unveiled a pair of its newest products, the SR-7 and SW-7. Both sport 7-inch, 800x480 resolution displays and can display digital photos and play back digital music or video files, with the former offering a radio-controlled clock and indoor thermometer. Both frames have an on-screen calendar that shows the day of the week and a dual-snooze alarm. The SW-7 is also a weather forecast station with barometric pressure trend indicator, humidity sensor, hygrometer and thermometer. It has five connections for wireless RF 433MHz remote sensors with auto scroll.
AMEX Digital recently announced a multi-featured device, the RM-mp1, capable of acting as a computer's remote control, laser pointer and mouse touchpad. The ultra-wideband Wireless USB device is meant to act as an all-in-one presentation aid, allowing users to control slide shows originating from a PC, then pointing out any specifics with the integrated laser pointer. Its dedicated media buttons allow it to be used for personal, home-entertainment purposes as well.
