Monitor powered by and receives data from a single USB 3.0 cable
Display technology company AOC, in partnership with DisplayLink, have announced the new AOC E1659FWU -- a portable 16-inch monitor that receives both power and signal through a single USB 3.0 cable. Compatible with both Mac and PC, the USB 3.0 Monitor has a 15.6-inch viewing window that supports 1366x768 resolution at 60Hz.
Widescreen display capable of replacing two monitors
AOC has unveiled a new monitor aimed at providing the experience of two monitors in one display. The 29-inch Q2963PM IPS monitor has an aspect ratio of 21:9, providing a cinematic view with its WHFD 2560x1080-resolution screen, and can be used to view two separate inputs on the same screen, as well as from a single source.
i2367fh HD monitor is energy efficient, affordable
AOC today announced the retail availability of the i2367fh, a 23-inch monitor featuring advanced high-performance In-Plane Switching technology and just two millimeters of bezel surrounding the display. The i2367fh has a 50,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for better picture quality, higher definition, and better color accuracy. It features an integrated HDMI port and built-in speakers, eliminating the need for external audio.
IPS display sports 0.08-inch bezel
AOC announced today the retail availability of the i2757fh, a new 27-inch IPS display with a bezel only 0.08 inches thick. The new display is said to be designed according to high environmental standards, containing mercury-free panels and arsenic-free glass. A winner of the iF Product Design Award, the i2757fh also features three different modes of viewing -- as a baseless photo frame, a standard function stand, and as a height-adjustable display.
AOC e2251Fwu has no other connections than USB
Display maker AOC is finally shipping its USB-powered e2251Fwu monitor that was introduced last June. The 21.5-inch, 1080p LED monitor gets both signal and power through a USB 2.0 connection, making it ideal for use as a secondary display. The monitor is just 10.6mm thick and sports a detachable stand.
Samsung and Apple have close rivalry in LCDs
New NPD DisplaySearch data has shown that Samsung and Apple have been in a mostly unstated rivalry for the desktop LCD market. Samsung has the worldwide lead for 24-inch and larger LED-lit displays at 34.7 percent, knocking Apple out of the top spot it held in 2010. In the US, while Apple was down from an absolute majority of 53.3 percent, it was still on top at 26.2 percent to Samsung's 24.3.
AOC 23-inch monitor does passive 3D at 5.8mm thin
AOC Europe has introduced a new monitor, the passive 3D-capable d2357Ph. The 23-inch screen is just 5.8mm thick without its stand, but with it installed is 10.6mm thick. It relies on passive 3D technology and ships with one pair of passive 3D glasses as well as one clip-on that attaches to eyeglasses.
AOC to bring 23-inch LCD with iPhone dock to CES
AOC has just introduced a new 23-inch monitor that's rare in carrying an integrated dock for the iPhone and iPod touch. The e2343Fi will stream any video content of the docked iOS device to its screen, and sound will be delivered through a pair of integrated SRS Premium speakers.
Extends display capabilities of tablets & iPads
AOC has begun shipping a new portable monitor to extend the display capabilities of tablets and other smaller screened devices. The 15.6-inch AOC e1649fwu wields its USB 2.0 port to provide power and and a second display for a notebook that can be as large as the notebook itself. It offers a maximum resolution of 1366x768 at 60Hz.
AOC to ship 15.6-inch USB monitor for notebooks
TV and monitor maker AOC has just introduced a new mobile display, the USB Monitor. Meant to act as a secondary display for notebooks, it uses a single USB cable to send the video signal and power it even with its size. The 15.6-inch e1649fwu has a 1366x768 resolution, a claimed and unusually high 50,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and a 5ms pixel response time.
Adding USB-powered, touchscreen LCDs to line-up
AOC will be introducing several new monitors and input devices at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Line Show in New York. Monitors launched will include two USB powered monitors, a touch screen monitor, and a monitor with a built in iPod dock. AOC is also bringing to market a palm-sized Bluetooth presenter.
AOC now shipping 12.7mm thick LED monitors
Computer monitor maker AOC on Wednesday announced the release of three new displays as part of the Aire Black series. The LED screens are just half an inch thick and sport a Screen+ Feature, or the ability to divide the screen into four self-contained work areas. The Aire Black LEDs are available in the 20-inch e2043Fk, 22-inch e2243Fwk and 23-inch e2343Fk.
AOC to show $200 Android 2.1 Breeze tablet at CES
AOC, one of the largest makers of value-priced LCD screens, on Monday said will bring a $200 Android tablet to CES. Called Breeze, it will sport an eight-inch, 800x600 touchscreen, have 4GB of built-in memory and a microSD memory card slot in addition to a USB port. Unusually, the company will preload the now year-old Android 2.1 and thus will need some hardware buttons to navigate.
Six new displays from 18.5-inch to 23-inch
AOC has unveiled a new ultra-slim range of LCD displays all measuring only half an inch thick. There are six models in the Razor lineup with display sizes ranging from 18-5-inches to 23-inches. The displays all incorporate a 16:9 aspect ratio and LED backlighting. In keeping with the minimalist styling, the displays have eschewed buttons for touch-sensitive keys integrated into the base, which light up as soon as a finger is near them.
AOC picked Friday to launch the 2436Vw, a 24-inch desktop LCD it's pitching as a frugal eco-friendly display. The 1080p screen consumes no more than 49W of power and meets EPEAT Gold standards but is relatively vibrant for its price range. Although it uses a basic TN panel, it produces a 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio with 300cd/m2 brightness and a 5ms typical pixel response time.
V22 Verfino LCD monitor
Display maker AOC has unveiled a new LCD monitor, the V22 Verfino. The screen measures 22 inches, and is a part of the company's Gamer Certified line. Accordingly the monitor is equipped with high-end features, such as HDMI input, LED backlighting, a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a response time of only 2ms. Conventional contrast and response figures range closer to 2,000-3,000:1 and 4-6ms.
AOC intros ultra-thin LCD
Low-cost CRT and LCD display manufacturer AOC has recently introduced a 17-inch LCD monitor, the V17, that is just under half on an inch thick (12mm). The panel offers 1440x900 resolution while the contrast ratio is rated at 5,000:1. The 10ms response time is slightly below average for 17-inch screens, though none are this thin. Despite its slim profile, the V17 has a VGA webcam built into its transparent bezel meant for video conferencing, which is supported by an integrated microphone and included video conferencing software.
AOC PC TV Hybrids
AOC seized on the back-to-school timeframe to release a trio of small screens that it says are a good fit for city dwellers with only a small amount of space. The smallest, the 19-inch L19W861, is also the sharpest with a 1440x900 resolution sharp enough both for 720p HDTV as well as computer input. It accordingly comes with both a VGA input for computers in addition to one each of HDMI, component, S-video, and RCA for TV sources. The screen is also vivid for a small display with a 3,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and sells for a relatively low $299.
