Addonics Technologies' Internal GigaNAS Adapter announced
Addonics Technologies has announced the release of its new Internal GigaNAS Adapter, intended for custom building one's own high-capacity network attached storage (NAS) system. Designed to mount into a PCI slot of a desktop computer, server or storage chassis (with a centronic 50-connector cutout), the adapter features two SATA ports and one USB port. Up to 16 hard drives over a LAN can be shared, with as much as 16TB per drive volume, with up to an 85MB per second transfer rate over a Gigabit Ethernet network.
Drives use compact flash or CFast to emulate SSD RAIDs
Addonics Technologies has released two storage solutions using Compact Flash (CF) cards in five slot drive configurations with the Sapphire five-slot CFast and Sapphire five-slot CF drives. The drives use CFast and Compact Flash cards, respectively, to create RAID arrays for SSD storage solutions, aimed at systems using USB 2.0/3.0 or eSATA interfaces.
Addonics' Wi-Fi Drive Adapter enables wireless sharing of USB drive, micro SD card
Addonics Technologies has announced its network device for wireless sharing of a USB drive or micro SD card, or for use as a wireless hotspot. The Wi-Fi Drive Adapter can share drive or card content upon insertion into the adapter. To share an Internet connection, a hotspot can be created by connecting the Wi-Fi Drive Adapter to a Local Area Network with an Internet connection. Including one RJ45 socket for 10/100Mbps Ethernet connections, the Wi-Fi Drive Adapter supports the 802.11b/g/n standard with a range of up to 150 feet. Priced at $50, the Addonic Wi-Fi Drive Adapter can be purchased online.
Drive can be direct connected to server with eSATA, networked with Ethernet
Addonics Technologies today announced the Secure NAS series of storage appliances, which combine the benefits of RAID, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Direct Attached Storage (DAS) and hardware AES 256-bit encryption all in one enclosure. The new Secure NAS R5 is tailored for storing large volumes of sensitive data, for securely transporting large volumes of data between different locations, or for any application that requires protection against data theft.
Addonics card readers offer eSATA transfer speeds
Addonics recently introduced two products meant to speed up transfer speeds of content from memory cards, with its Pocket eSATA/USB DigiDrive and Internal SATA/USB DigiDrive. Either can read 15 different memory card formats with an optional adapter, with transfer speeds topping out at 1.5Gbps when connected using the eSATA interface. A traditional USB connection is also possible and peaks at the spec's 480Mbps.
Addonics NAS Adapter
Addonics on Thursday announced the release of its NAS Adapter that lets users add USB-based storage devices to local area networks. The USB storage device can then be shared by any user on the network and up to eight outside users with an Internet connection via FTP access. The adapter is compatible with SMB and open-source Samba network protocols, and can be configured as a printer server or BitTorrent downloader.
