SoundCloud has dropped Flash in favor of HTML5. The cloud-based social sound sharing service has added a widget which lets subscribers across multiple platforms leverage the app. Previously, while most Android users were fine, iPad and iPhone users were at a loss when they came across a song or sound sample using Adobe's plugin.
Xtreamer has just introduced a new media streaming hub called the Prodigy. The advanced device sports a Realtek 1185 chipset and has USB 3.0 ports. A sharp break, however, is its unique combination of seemingly conflicting technology. It combines an Adobe Flash-based user interface with support for Apple's remote AirPlay streaming as well as Mediafly, Google Talk, Netflix, Last FM, Pandora and Facebook, among others.
A leaked document courtesy of CrackBerry reveals that retailer Staples will carry RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. The move would be in line with the company's attempts to bring its products to a more varied choice of non-traditional retailers. The leak reveals Staples employees will receive training on the device starting in March, which also indicates a release date may be in March or soon after.
