Samsung S3500 introduced

Samsung is expected to bring out an entry-level sliding handset under its Anycall brand in Asian and European markets with the S3500. The quad-band GSM phone sports a 320x240 resolution screen and a couple of other basic features such as a 2-megapixel camera, built-in FM tuner and digital audio playback capabilities. Users will be able to transfer music files to the built-in 35MB of memory via a USB connection, but more can be added to the handset via a microSD memory card. The handset will also include a built-in browser and e-mail client.

Samsung Anycall Origin

Samsung is prepping the launch of the Anycall Origin flip phone in its home market of Korea. Pitched towards those who the company calls active seniors, the phone also known as the W690 features a large 2.6-inch Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) LCD main screen which, compared to traditional LCDs, does not require a backlight, is more energy efficient, can be thinner and is better suited for quick motion thanks to its faster refresh rate.

Samsung AnyCall Haptic 2

Samsung on Friday stepped up its efforts to lead touchscreen phones with the launch of the AnyCall Haptic 2, the second generation of its device in one year to rely on its namesake vibration feedback technology to simulate physical button presses on its screen. The quick follow-up to the March original is distinguished by its customization: users can personalize the vibrate mode and have access to more than three times the number of widgets on the home screen for quick access to weather and other info.

Samsung AnyCall Haptic

Samsung on Tuesday rolled out a surprise addition to its growing line of touchscreen phones with a new model that promises hardware and software rarely present on its opponents. Titled the AnyCall Haptic, the device adds its namesake haptic feedback to fill in the physical response often absent on touch devices. Pressing an on-screen button or changing the volume produces a vibration response that mimics the effect of a physical interface. The software also unintentionally mirrors design elements from the latest iPhone software, as suggested by Samsung's description: users can drag and drop shortcuts to favorite apps to the home screen and also add small widget apps to check info without leaving the phone's front end.
