Samsung pulls ATIV Tab with Windows RT in Germany

Windows RT shows further signs of stalling with Samsung exit

Samsung has confirmed that it has pulled its ATIV Tab with Windows RT from sale in Germany citing weak demand. It has also withdrawn the devices from sale in several, as yet unspecified European countries. Samsung had yet to release the device in the US as it was gauging its sales success elsewhere; it now seems almost certain that it won’t make it stateside.

First phone to run Microsoft's latest mobile OS

Although Samsung primarily focused on its Android-based Galaxy Note II at IFA today in Germany, the company also took time to highlight the Windows Phone 8-equipped Ativ S and the Windows RT-powered Ativ Tab. The S variant is one of the first smartphones to run the latest version of Microsoft's mobile OS, which expands support for improved hardware such as a dual-core 1.5GHz processor.
