Seagate updates Backup Plus line with USB 3.0 Mac version

Seagate has unveiled a version of its Backup Plus portable and desktop drives for the Mac. The new release includes USB 3.0 support, which did not exist on Macs until the MacBook Pro with Retina was put on the market, though it can be upgraded to use FireWire 800 or a Thunderbolt connection if required, via Seagate's Universal Storage Module technology.
