Promotion ahead of Valentine's day

T-Mobile has announced that its entire range of phones, and a number of tablets, will be offered for free during a one-day promotion on Saturday, February 11. The "Valentine's Day Sale" applies to smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S II, BlackBerry Bold 9900, HTC Amaze 4G and Nokia Lumia 710, along with the SpringBoard tablet and the Sonic 4G hotspot.

Canadian cellular provider Wind Mobile has confirmed that it is set to launch several new smartphones, including Samsung's Galaxy Nexus and RIM's BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the BlackBerry Curve 9360 in white. The announcement marks further expansion of the Nexus into the Canadian market, following on the heels of Rogers, Telus, Bell and Virgin Mobile.

White devices spotted in UAE, Netherlands

Several leaks suggest RIM may be preparing to launch a BlackBerry Bold 9900 variant featuring an all-white color scheme. One of the pictures, which was posted by the Arabic site Berry-Wd, is claimed to show the unannounced white Bold in the wild. The handset is built with a white faceplate and white keyboard, with the same stainless frame as the existing model.

Device torn apart ahead of US launch

RIM's BlackBerry Bold 9900 has already been dissected by parts distributor DirectFix. A YouTube video provides teardown instructions for a Rogers-branded Bold, showing the compact internals and typical modular construction. Although DIY servicing typically voids warranties, the design appears to lend itself to straightforward keyboard and display replacement with a few simple tools.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 has gone up for pre-order on the Vodafone UK website. Customers who pre-order the phone now, can expect to have it shipped out by August 16. It is the first Bold to feature RIM’s new BlackBerry 7, touch-friendly OS.

The Blackberry Bold 9900 looks set to arrive on T-Mobile’s network on August 31. This would be in line with its recent appearance at the FCC, which aligned with a late August release. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 expected to land early November has begun appearing on European carrier websites as ‘coming soon’. It is now listing on the Vodafone Netherlands and T-Mobile UK sites, among others. At the time of writing it is yet to appear on any US carrier sites, but RIM’s launches usually occur in multiple markets simultaneously, so the Bold can be expected to make its US appearance shortly.

Adding to details leaked in an earlier report, documents from the Canadian carrier Bell appear to show launch plans for the iPhone, BlackBerry Bold 9700 and Samsung Omnia 2, according to the Boy Genius Report. The latest source claims the iPhone 3G will be available for $150 with a three-year contract after rebates, while off-contract pricing is set at $600.

T-Mobile to get BlackBerry Onyx near end of year

T-Mobile has allegedly confirmed its plans to launch RIM's BlackBerry Bold 9700, known as the Onyx, sometime before the end of the year. The smartphone will support the carrier's UMA Wi-Fi calling service, available using HotSpot@Home, according to CIO. Press photos appear to confirm that RIM has omitted a trackball in favor of an optical pad.

BlackBerry Bold launches

The BlackBerry Bold will hit the Canadian marketplace Thursday, according to the sole GSM provider Rogers Wireless, allegedly carrying a cost between $300 and $400. While not a simultaneous worldwide release, like Apple's iPhone, carriers are expected to see the device all throughout this week, with Germany already offering the Bold to customers. The Bold represents Canadian company RIM's first attempt at a high-speed HSDPA device. Rogers could not confirm pricing.

New BlackBerry Bold dates?

Release dates for RIM's BlackBerry Bold cellphone have been leaked, a report claims. Though having missed its July 25th release date, Rogers' Canadian version of the phone is still expected to ship first, on July 29th. Next is believed to be the Vodafone UK edition, shipping August 1st, followed by the T-Mobile Germany model, coming August 4th. An O2 variant is expected sometime in September.

BBerry Bold August Delay

The BlackBerry Bold's launch with AT&T has been pushed back again until August, says a tip from "high-level" contacts at AT&T speaking to BGR. The 3G smartphone had once been penned in for July but is now reportedly delayed another month to sort out issues with short battery life and overheating, both issues that were identified in past leaks. An exact release date isn't available.
