Google Drive tip narrows launch
The often-rumored Google Drive might have at last settled on a more definitive launch plan that would include true cross-platform access. A draft press release sliped to The Next Web had the service more closely following the Dropbox formula, where files were stored in a syncing folder or folders on a Mac or Windows PC. Although widely suspected, it's now believed to have an iOS app to match the Android and desktop components.

LG Viper 4G LTE gets launch details
Sprint officially crowned its first LTE smartphone on Tuesday, giving the distinction to the LG Viper 4G LTE. The Android 2.3 hardware will get pre-orders on April 12 at one of the lower prices for LTE, at $100 on a contract. Smartphone plans cost the same and, at a starting $80, is both one of the less expensive LTE offerings and the only one with with unlimited (if on-device) data.

Limited LG and Box offer good until March 31
Cloud content storage provider Box has detailed another smartphone partnership. LG will be offering free lifetime 50GB Box Personal accounts to its Android phone and tablet owners. The time-limited promo is available for all owners of devices running Android 2.1 or higher.

Offers 5GB free to Android & iOS devices and PCs
Pogoplug has released Pogoplug Cloud, an online storage service for smartphones, tablets and computers. The company is currently running an introductory promotion which offers subscribers up to 5GB storage. Mobile users can download a free app to access the service (free, App Store, Android Market).

Lexmark Genesis printer has camera, upright design
Lexmark today sought to shake up the normally very conservative world of printers by introducing the Genesis. The design is unusual just by standing upright but is more unique still by using a 10-megapixel camera for scanning. It can capture the entire frame almost instantly and can convert the scan to a full image in as little as three seconds.

Changles include offline mode
Box.net will "soon" make some important updates to its iPad and iPhone apps, according to an announcement. Unlike most filesharing services, Box is oriented towards businesses. Users can collaborate on work projects, for instance by assigning tasks and posting comments. The service also places a strong emphasis on security through encryption and customizable permissions.

Creative Vado HD in Stores
As promised, Creative this morning marked the US in-store date for its Vado HD pocket camera. The 720p-capable recorder aims to beat the Flip Mino HD on features with HDMI video output, twice as much storage at 8GB and a larger two-inch preview LCD. Creative uses H.264 encoding that should give it four hours with Flip-level encoding or two hours in a claimed better HD+ capture mode.
