Entry-level smartphone based on Qualcomm's BREW.

HTC on Thursday unveiled the HTC Smart; the company called the device "a new type of smartphone" based on Qualcomm’s Brew MP operating system that tries to deliver smartphone-like devices at more aggressive price points. HTC Smart uses HTC's usual compact touch design and integrates an intuitive user experience that is centered around HTC Sense, the company's design philosophy that "puts people at the center by focusing on three core areas: Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected." HTC Smart allows users to customize their own phone experience and also provides a quick and easy way to see what friends are up to via various social networks. It also provides intuitive and easy access to text messaging and email.

HTC Touch.B a featurephone thanks to BREW MP OS

The very recently spotted HTC Touch.B handset will not run on the open-source Android operating system after all. Previously known by the Rome codename, the latest MobiFrance report reveals it will instead rely on the conventionally-oriented Brew MP operating system rather than HTC's usual smartphone platforms. The Qualcomm OS is still in its Alpha build, though it resembles HTC's own TouchFLO interface.
