DTS impresses with surround quality audio tech
We were drawn to DTS' CES booth by the odd visual of dancers breaking it down to Usher tunes in a miniature house somewhat reminiscent of the Hollywood Squares set, but we stayed to check out the company's Headphone:X technology. DTS promises that users will be able to experience a "home theater in your pocket" by reproducing the sound experience of an 11.1 surround sound experience using only a set of headphones. You hear a lot of big claims at CES, so initially we were skeptical. We were wrong.

Sony brings new Android flagship
Sony continued its five-year tradition of Xperia smartphone introductions at CES, unveiling the Xperia Z and ZL at the 2013 expo. Electronista had a chance to handle the new Android handsets at the end of the company's high-profile press conference.

IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC coming this summer
Lenovo has unveiled a new table PC at CES 2013 that can function both as a standard desktop computer and an interactive table top device. The 27-inch Horizon features a multi-touch display that can register up to 10 fingers simultaneously, as well as a Core i7 processor, and Nvida GeForce graphics. A hinge allows the device to be transitioned between standing and flat positions, and moving the device into the table top orientation automatically activates the multi-touch interface.

2013 products shown at CES
Following on the heels of recent announcements, LG Display has brought many of its new TVs and other hardware to Las Vegas for CES 2013. Electronista has taken an early look at the company's latest Smart TV offerings, including several Ultra HD models, along with the UltraWide monitor and several other new IPS displays.

Teaser video promises 'something new'
Next month's Consumer Electronics Show may see the introduction of a new entry in Samsung's Galaxy line of Android-powered devices. That seems to be the takeaway from a new teaser video released by Samsung on Sunday, which doesn't reveal much in the way of details, but definitely points to CES 2013 and contains imagery suggestive of a new Galaxy device. The video (shown below) promises viewers that "something new" will be revealed beginning January 8 through January 11 next year, the same dates for which the Consumer Electronics Show is scheduled.
