COOL-ER intros 3G model, adds periodicals

Interead, the manufacturer of the COOL-ER line of e-book readers will unveil new models at the CES show later this week. This includes the 6-inch COOL-ER Compact, which uses an E Ink screen and 2GB of onboard memory that can be expanded thanks to a built-in SD memory card slot. At the same time, the existing COOL-ER Classic will get new color options, while a new COOL-ER Connect will get Wi-Fi and a touchscreen. Another new model, the COOL-ER 3G, will get a 3G connection, likely courtesy of the previously noted AT&T deal.

The company hasn't provided full features but says that models will also come equipped with Wi-Fi; whether or not both will be found in the same model isn't evident. At least the 3G models should be available sometime in mid-2010.
