Flagship Android phone closes in on launch

There are further indications that Samsung's newest flagship phone, the Galaxy Nexus, also sometimes referred to as the Nexus Prime, may soon be hitting the streets. Earlier in this week, Samsung's UK sales director told an audience that it would be in stores "sooner than you think," and yesterday, the Android 4.0-based handset made its way into Verizon's Cellebrite inventory system. Today, Droid-Life reported that the phone has now appeared in Best Buy's inventory system as well.

Best Buy Cellebrite system shows Droid 3, X 2

The anticipated Droid X 2 and Droid 3 smartphones from Motorola have shown up again, this time in Best Buy's Cellebrite system. The screen capture below reveals the model numbers of the handsets, with the Droid 3 going by XT862 and the Droid X 2 getting the MB870 moniker. The listing also hints that the phones are very near a release, perhaps in a matter of weeks. The Droid X 2 is expected to arrive later in May, according to unofficial rumors.

New image supports Toshiba TG01 at Verizon

Another indication that the 1GHz Qualcomm CPU-powered Toshiba TG01 smartphone may be soon coming to Verizon surfaced on Thursday. This comes in the form of an image of a Cellebrite device screen showing a handset called TG01CV. The Cellebrite machine is used to transfer database content between handsets and implies Verizon is readying its system to accept the new phone in its system.
