Lenovo leaks own Intel Ivy Bridge plans
A Lenovo reseller channel update (PDF has inadvertently revealed the company's plans to ship systems based on Intel's Ivy Bridge platform in June. Systems based on Chief River, the mainboard chipset plaform for Ivy Bridge processors, will be on sale for resellers on June 5. These stores won't get their units until September, but it's possible that Lenovo itself will ship PCs to end users sooner.

Lenovo roadmap tips low-cost ThinkPad and new X1
Lenovo may be one of the first Windows PC builders to significantly undercut the current MacBook Air in price. An escaped roadmap (PDF) has a 14-inch "mainstream" ThinkPad ultrabook arriving in May or June. At a price closer to $800, it would be significantly less expensive than the current model.

Intel says USB 3 due for Ivy Bridge
Intel during the Developer Forum in Beijing confirmed late Wednesday that its 2012 processor architecture would have native USB 3.0 support. Backing leaked slides, architecture group VP Kirk Skaugen explained that Ivy Bridge, a 22 nanometer version of the Sandy Bridge design used in today's Core processors, should support the interface. He saw the 5Gbps interface as "complimentary" to Thunderbolt in an online event CNET caught.

Intel says Sandy Bridge to show at CES
Intel tonight sent out an invitation confirming that it would launch its Sandy Bridge processors at its CES keynote on January 5. PC Client Group general manager Mooly Eden will show the chips, now badged "second generation Intel Core processors." One of these will be the "world's fastest processor," the invite said.

Intel Chief River to run 22nm mobile, get USB 3
Intel has given notebook manufacturers the first details of its next notebook platform after Huron River, mainboard developers claimed on Monday. Chief River would support the 22 nanometer processors based on Intel's future Ivy Bridge architecture and would have native USB 3.0 support. Digitimes was told the design would enter mass production in September 2011, although it wouldn't ship until January 2012, likely arriving at CES.
