Cincinnati Bell just added two new BlackBerry 7 smartphones to its lineup in the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Torch 9860. Either gets a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor. The former combines a 2.8-inch, 640x480 touchscreen display and a hardware QWERTY keyboard, along with an NFC radio.
Dell announced on Thursday that the first of its Windows Phone 7 devices to get the Mango update will be the unlocked Venue Pro smartphone. Those in the US, India, Europe, the Middle East and Africa with the handset can expect the update to roll out sometime this fall. Owners of the handset locked to T-Mobile and Cincinnati Bell Wireless will also get the new code.
The HTC Panache has officially reached US shores following its early stint in Canada. Cincinnati Bell has made the Android 2.3-based smartphone available to its customers. Its design is a direct variation of the myTouch 4G, which went on sale last November through T-Mobile, without some of that carrier's custom apps but with a newer OS than the earlier carrier had.
Cincinnati Bell has become the first US carrier to offer the BlackBerry Pearl 3G. The device supports 3G networks and has a SureType keyboard rather than a full QWERTY one, as is common with BlackBerry handsets. It also gets an optical touchpad rather than the older Pearl's trackball.
Cincinnati Bell Wireless on Monday announced it is the first US carrier to offer the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone in the US. Before today, those who wanted the handset in the country had to pay $400 for an unlocked but also unsubsidized device. Otherwise, the smartphone includes its stock 3.2-inch, 360x640 touchscreen, a web browser with Adobe Flash support, an integrated GPS sensor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0.
