Cloud storage platform Dropbox has released an update for its iOS app, in light of the release of iOS 8. Dropbox allows users to store their files remotely, and its iOS app provides access to any file saved to one's cloud account. Dropbox v3.4 includes a restored automatic back-up functionality for iOS 8, which was briefly not working for those who installed the latest iOS release.

Cloud storage encryption software, Boxcryptor, has released two new OS X beta versions. Boxcryptor protects users' files that are in the cloud, applicable to Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, and more. The newest version offers added support for OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and iCloud Drive, as well as support for Spotlight and Trash enabled in the Advanced Preferences. Saving and loading of preferences and offline support are improved. Boxcryptor can now better handle sync conflicts, with auto-fixing for modified encrypted filenames now available. For both Boxcryptor and Boxcryptor Classic for OS X, OSXFUSE is no longer required to run the software. Boxcryptor is available in three pricing options, ranging from free to an unlimited business version for $95 per year.

Cloud storage company Dropbox has released its latest product, Carousel, a photo and video gallery app. Available for both iOS and Android platforms, Carousel provides a single location for users' photo and video content in an organized manner. The app automatically backs up photos and videos to the user's Dropbox account as they are captured, ensuring they are safe from being lost in a device crash. Users can engage in private conversations with friends, as to share their media with others. The number of photos and videos one can put in their Carousel is based on how much space they have attached to their Dropbox account, with the free storage size starting at 2GB. Carousel is free to download through iTunes and Google Play, and requires a Dropbox account to utilize its features.

Available on the iTunes Store, v2.3 includes the addition of link sharing; a swipe function to quickly share, move, delete or 'favorite' an item; improved software performance, and a new ability to select and share multiple photos with other users.
