iPad app allows for product import to Cubase for OS X and Windows
German music software and equipment company Steinberg has unveiled Cubasis -- a streamlined, multi-touch sequencer for the iPad. The new app provides over 70 virtual instrument sounds, 300 MIDI and audio loops, and export capability to Cubase for Windows and OSX, Dropbox, SoundCloud, and AudioCopy.

Steinberg has announced the impending release of Cubase 5, the latest version of its professional music production suite. The software incorporates a number of new features, such as the LoopMash virtual instrument, and the Beat Designer drum pattern tool. Vocal editing and pitch correction tools have been integrated, along with a central automation panel, and a VST3-based convolution reverb processor.
Alesis has announced first shipments of its MasterControl audio interface and control surface. Designed as a professional audio interface and recording control tool, the device provides 44.1kHz to 192kHz recording capabilities. The input section consists of two XLR inputs with phantom power and channel inserts, six TRS line inputs, and expansion capabilities. Master Control also comes complete with a talkback microphone, a full MIDI interface, and the ability to review knob, button, and fader settings before sending them to the DAW software.
