DodoCase launches new Recover wood iPhone case, available in five wood patterns
American tech accessories producer DodoCase has released a new set of wood-clad iPhone 5 and 5s-compatible cases under the name Recover. Composed of a natural wood backplate that is inlayed into a polycarbonate bumper, Recover's low profile and snap-fit construction offer a slim design as well as suitable protection from general wear for one's iPhone. The case leaves full access to all buttons and ports, and its wide camera opening ensures photo capturing is unobstructed. Available wood choices include Walnut, White Feather, Bamboo, Wenge Stripe and Recycled Skateboard Deck Wood, the Recover Wood iPhone 5/5s case is priced at $40.
Dodocase's new Multi-Angle case iPad Air and iPad mini now available
Accessory designer Dodocase has released a new case for iPad Air and iPad mini, the Multi-Angle Dodocases. The back cover is equipped with three pre-set angles (45-60 degrees), and the case has leather grip tabs that accommodate a variety of adjustable angles between 25-90 degrees. Possessing a strength-tested bamboo tray, the Multi-Angle Dodocases are suitable for typing, reading, watching videos, and more. Available in black ($65 for iPad Air, $40 for iPad mini) or red/grey, blue/grey, and grey/grey ($75 for iPad Air, $50 for iPad mini), the cases can be purchased online.
Audiobook streaming service updated for iOS and Android
Audiobooks.com announced the release of its updated iOS and Android streaming apps today. Like Netflix and Pandora, Audiobooks.com's app can be used to stream content on demand, choosing from thousands of audio book titles. The latest version features a new user interface, home screen widget and audio player tray. The app can be downloaded from Google Play and iTunes, and requires a $15 per month subscription.
First one-hundred customers received a Wacom Stylus Pen
Wednesday marked the release of DODOcase's iPad mini Folio, the latest in its line of part-case, part-notepad tablet covers. Described as an "all-in-one solution for digital and analog needs," the case features traditional craft techniques in its production, including bookbinding practices. The interior of the iPad mini Folio includes DODOcase's signature bamboo precision-carved tray on the left side, with its right side occupied by a reporter-style twenty-four page refillable notebook.
DODOcase for Kindle Fire made available
DODOcase turned its high-end case-making to Amazon's Android tablet with the DODOcase for Kindle Fire. Like the iPad and BlackBerry PlayBook cases, the handmade case replicates the feel of a traditionally bound book and can be used both as a luxury case but also as a stealth case for those worried about conspicuous technology. The Kindle Fire itself sits in a bamboo tray that holds the slate while minimizing the ecological impact versus tree wood.
Monogram option costs $10 extra
DODOcase has upgraded its popular iPad 2 case with two new features. All versions of the case are firstly being equipped with magnets, in response to public demand, the company says. As with the Apple Smart Cover and other similar products, the new DODOcase magnets turn an iPad 2 on and off automatically when using the lid.
DODOcase now offering handmade cases for Kindle 3
DODOcase, known for its specialty case for the iPad, has just launched Kindle 3 covers. Each DODOcase is leather and handmade by artisans in San Francisco with the same traditional bookbinding techniques and tools used for Apple's tablet. The interior of the cases are made of bamboo to protect the Kindle.
