New bags driven by need for RFID block in dense urban environments
Computer accessory maker Das Keyboard has announced its expansion into a new product category with the launch of highly-secure, radio frequency identification (RFID) blocking bags. Known as Das Keyboard HackShield bags, the company’s new backpack and messenger bags provide a new level of protection against physical and digital intrusion for users on-the-go.
Input device offers retro mechanical "click" sound
German peripherals maker Das Keyboard has launched an Mac-specific mechanical keyboard. The Model S Professional for Mac incorporates mechanical key switches which produce a distinctive clicking sound when a key is successfully struck to give the feedback absent from the scissor-motion keys on notebooks and some desktop keyboards. The company claims that the retro noise emulates the keystroke sounds of a classic IBM Model M keyboard.
Das Keyboard Model S adds media keys, more
Das Keyboard today grew out its input line through Model S, its first full-feature keyboard. The new peripheral now have media keys for music playback and a second USB port for a peripheral. Compatibility also gets a boost through support for KVM multi-computer switches and a PS/2 adapter for older Windows PCs.
