Denon DHT-T100 TV Speaker Base offers compact home theater sound

Denon has launched the DHT-T100 TV Speaker Base, a variation on home theater sound bars that have become increasingly popular. Similar to products like the Bose Solo and the LG Sound Plate, the Denon DHT-T100 sits under a TV stand, but incorporates a larger audio box in order to produce a deeper, more powerful sound.

Denon INCOMMAND AV receivers support 4K, AirPlay

Denon has revealed the latest additions to its networked AV receiver lineup, designed to suit users with a range of budgets. The new INCOMMAND models also all support Apple’s lossless AirPlay wireless standard, which adds streaming support for the full range of Apple iOS devices and Macs. Three of the four new models also offer support for the new 4K Ultra HD standard.

Denon has unveiled a pure digital network hub, the DNP-720AE Network Audio Player. The device like some of Denon's more recent home theater hardware has AirPlay support for streaming music wirelessly from an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, or iTunes library back to an audio component or home theater system. DLNA 1.5 support eases access with other devices.

Denon, Marantz audio hardware gets AirPlay update

Selected Denon and Marantz audio hardware should now finally support Apple's AirPlay streaming technology, as promised, the two companies say. Supported Denon receivers include the AVR-4311CI, AVR-3311CI, AVR-991 and AVR-A100, as well as the N7, a combination networked CD receiver and two-channel speaker system. Compatible Marantz gear includes the SR7005 receiver, AV7005 preamp, NA7004 network audio player and M-CR603 networked CD receiver.

Denon outs AH-NC800 noise-cancelling headphones

Dual noise-cancelling, compact and lightweight

Denon has introduced its AH-NC800 dual noise-cancelling travel headphones. Incorporating dual noise cancelling technology, the noise from outside the headphones is cut by up to 99 percent. This is the result of two microphones; one that cancel the noise from the outside, and a secondary mic that further suppresses external sound that might leak inside the headphones. Designed for digital portable music players, the headphones incorporate Denon’s Compressed Audio Restorer active circuitry that reconstructs MP3 and MP4 recordings so they sound more natural and akin to the original source recording.

Denon outs N7 stereo with iOS AirPlay

Denon intros N7 iPod dock with AirPlay, CD drive

Electronics maker Denon has introduced the RCD-N7, a new small home entertainment center that integrates a CD player and iPod dock. It supports the popular digital audio formats and will support Windows Media Player 11 for syncing through integrated Wi-Fi. It gets DLNA v1.5 compatibility, along with Apple AirPlay support to push audio from an iOS device or iTunes.

BridgeCo partners with Apple to deploy AirPlay feature

Apple in rare partnership with third party vendor

Apple has reportedly entered into a rare partnership with third-party vendor BridgeCo to help showcase its new AirPlay feature. At the company’s Sept 1st music event, CEO Steve Jobs demonstrated an iPad streaming the movie Up to the new Apple TV. Apple is said to have given BridgeCo -- a software and embedded audio chip specialist -- unique access to iTunes code, in particular to enable AirPlay on devices made by Denon, iHome, Marantz, JBL, and Bowers & Wilkens. All of the companies are listed on Apple’s website as featured partners.

Denon intros Blu-ray players, iPod docks

Denon's American branch this afternoon bowed its core lineup for 2009 and headlined it with both Blu-ray players as well as network-aware iPod docks. The DBP-2010CI and DBP-1610CI both bring Blu-ray Profile 2.0 support for Internet-based special features and will play both AVC (H.264) and DivX video in HD. The higher-end 2010CI touts a higher-grade Anchor Bay digital imaging processor and a serial port for home automation. Both ship in July with the 1610CI costing $499 and the 2010CI asking a premium at $699.

Denon delays universal Blu-ray player release

Denon delays DVD-A1UD

Denon on Friday announced it will delay the release of its DVD-A1UD Blu-ray player by about two months, without giving any reasons for the delay. The company now claims the reader is now due out late in March as production is behind the original schedule. Denon's flagship is billed as the first universal disc player for its ability to play back Blu-ray, DVD video and audio, SACDs as well as standard CDs, in addition to having a slot for SDHC memory cards. It also handles pure DivX 6, JPEG, MP3 and WMA files.

Denon set to unveil first universal Blu-ray player

Denon universal BD player

Denon has recently shown off what it claims is the world's first truly high-end and universal Blu-ray player, the DVD-A1UD. Apart from the capability of playing Blu-ray and DVD video discs, the player also supports DVD Audio, SACD and standard DVDs and CDs. A built-in SDHC memory card will let users play files on the reusable media, with support for WMA, MP3 audio, DiVX 6 video and JPEG images. A built-in audio-restorer function improves the quality of compressed music. Denon's 4th-generaiton Link port promises integration with the company's amplifiers, including the AVP-A1HD and AVC-A1HD, as well as any future Denon products.

Denon shows reference-quality Blu-ray player

Denon reference BD player

Denon has recently announced the upcoming release of a high-end Blu-ray player that promises reference-standard playback, the DVD-3800BD. It's the first Blu-ray player to use the 10-bit Silicon Optix sxT2 HQV Realta chipset to provide the player with highest resolution HD video currently offered via an HDMI 1.3a connection with 36-bit deep color support. To ensure high-quality sound reproduction, Denon used a DDSC-HD audio output along with dual 32-bit floating-point Burr Brown DSPs and its AL24 processors and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders.

Marantz Blu-Ray by April?

An extremely high-end Blu-Ray player from Marantz may ship by April, a new announcement suggests. Marantz's parent company, D&M Holdings, has revealed that "additional [Blu-Ray] models" should ship in the fourth quarter of FY07, which for D&M ends on March 31st of this year. While this likely includes at least one Blu-Ray player from the Denon brand, Marantz is known to be working on the the BD8002, a machine originally announced for the second calendar quarter of this year at CES.

Denon S-series brings iPod, WiFi support

Denon today rolled out a last-minute gift option through two new compact stereos designed to pull content from non-traditional sources. The S-52 and its smaller S-32 counterpart both bring Ethernet and 802.11g WiFi that lets each system take music from any Mac, PC, or other networked storage and play it from the device using a relatively complex LCD menu system. It can not only play AAC, MP3, and WMA songs but also Internet radio and lossless formats like FLAC and WAV, Denon says. Those with a subscription or a free trial for Real's Rhapsody service can also stream content directly from the Internet, including both their own libraries and preset channels. Even the time is calibrated online, Denon says.
