HTC has shown off its update to the Desire line at IFA 2012. The Desire X, its official name outed earlier this week by European retailers at the same time as a second photo leak, is a mid-point between the Desire and One ranges, with many design influences seemingly borrowed from the One series, if not the brand name.

Rumored specifications list apparently confirmed

More images of the HTC Proto, which may in fact be the Desire X based on online retailer listings, have leaked online. The small handset was spotted by ePrice.com.hk in its completed form, with initial impressions suggesting it will be a mid-range release, ahead of an expected announcement by the company at IFA later this week.
