Mitsubishi shows curved commercial OLED display
At the ISE show in Amsterdam this week, Mitsubishi showed off a curved Diamond Vision OLED display. The prototype TV has an extra-wide 1920x256 resolution, a pixel pitch of 3mm and an 80-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle. The display is made up of modules, with each sporting a 128x128-pixel grid.
Mitsubishi to ship first module OLED display
Mitsubishi Electric said over the weekend that it will release the first modular OLED display later this month. The display, dubbed Diamond Vision OLED, will be sold in sizes of 100 inches at a minimum and meant for indoor use. Maximum brightness of 1,200cd/m2 is about twice that of Mitsubishi's LED-lit products, while the viewing angle is about 80 degrees from any given side. The display is made up of individual modules rather than a continuous panel: each weighs 17.6lbs and measures 15.1 inches square.
