HTC sells under own name in mainland China
HTC on Tuesday made its first serious push into mainland China by planning to launch phones under its own name. Instead of launching phones through Dopod, the Taiwan area smartphone maker will ship phones directly. It plans to launch the Desire and Wildfire as well as two China-specific phones, the Windows Mobile 6.5-based Tianxi and entry-level, Android-based Tianyi.
